Stake Your Take

How Stake Your Take Works

Back your takes. Top your group.

Stake Your Take is a season-long sports prediction game for groups.

Members in your group start with the same number of play-money tokens. Use those tokens to make head-to-head takes on real games, grow your bankroll, and compete to finish the season at the top of your group.

There is no house, no real money, and no anonymous public competition. Just you and a season of takes.

1. Create or join a group

Start a private group and share the invite, or join a group through an invite link or the group name and password.

Each group is its own competition. The group commissioner sets the starting bankroll, eligible games, and any per-take stake limit. Once all members join, the commissioner activates the competition.

Your tokens and record are tracked separately in every group you join.

2. Make a take

Choose an upcoming game, pick the team you think will win, and set your stakes.

You decide how many tokens you'll risk and how many tokens a group member must risk to take the other side.

For example: “I'll stake 100 tokens on Washington. You stake 60 on Dallas.”

3. Go head-to-head

When another member accepts your take, both members' tokens are locked and the matchup is set.

Every take is one member against another. There is no bookmaker and no house setting the odds. You set the terms, members in your group decide if they are willing to take the other side, and the results of the real game determine the winner.

4. Settle the take

When the game ends, Stake Your Take verifies the result and settles the take automatically.

The winner receives the full pot. If the game ends in a valid tie, is canceled, or cannot be completed, the take is voided and both members get their tokens back.

5. Manage your bankroll, play the long game

Winning individual takes matters, but the real competition plays out over the full season.

Go bigger on your strongest opinions, spread smaller stakes across several games, or protect your bankroll when you do not like the slate. Every decision affects your standing within the group.

For example: Risk 500 tokens on one take or 50 tokens on five takes.

When the group's season ends and all takes are settled, the member with the most tokens finishes on top.
